Hello singles of northeast Louisiana! August is here and school is starting back! Football season is about to kick-off (one of my favorite sports to watch) and there are plenty of events coming up in our Single Life Ministry at North Monroe Baptist Church.
First, this is our last Single’s Sunday Night Bible Study of the summer. It meets at 6:00 pm on August 22nd at Gail Caraway’s Home. Our Discipleship Pastor, Bill Ashburn will be leading this Sunday evening Bible Study entitled, ”How to Hide God’s Word in your Heart.”
Second, your remaining balance of $175 deposit is due now for our Singles Labor Day Experience in Ridgecrest North Carolina on September 2 -6. The reality about living boldly in an uncertain world requires an experience of resurgence where we are called to return to loving God and loving people. For those seeking God, the “return” speaks to what God created us to be. For believers, resurgence calls us to “return” from all the distractions that have taken us away from loving God and loving people.

Third, our Single’s Ski Trip to Crested Butte, Colorado is now scheduled for February 10-15, 2011. Trip cost is $400 for 3 days of skiing/$350 for 2 days of skiing/$300 for non-skiers. This year we will travel over on a 56 passenger charter bus! A $100 deposit is due by Sunday, August 29th, which confirms your spot. Space is limited and now there are only 10 spots still open for this trip. The second ski trip payment of $150 will be due by Sunday, September 26th. Single Life - our time of fellowship, worship and relevant Bible study for area singles will resume on Wednesday, August 18th. We are studying the book of James. We are on about James chapter 2. I hope you will come join us on Wednesday night at 6:30 pm for a great time of Bible Study with other single adults in room WC-202.
